Edfu and Kom Ombo Temple Tour
During your holiday in Egypt, a tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Aswan and take you on a scenic drive north. After about an hour, you’ll make your first stop to visit...
Kom Ombo Temple
Situated on the banks of the Nile, the Temple of Kom Ombo dates back to the Ptolemaic period. This unique temple is the only double temple in ancient Egypt, dedicated to both the falcon-headed god Horus and the crocodile-headed god Sobek. Sobek was believed to be the god of the Nile and the creator of the world, making this temple an important sanctuary of the Pharaonic era.
Edfu Temple
Next, you’ll visit the Temple of Edfu, dedicated to the god Horus. Known as one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt, it is second in significance only to the Karnak Temple. The temple remained buried under sand for centuries until it was rediscovered by the French archaeologist Auguste Mariette in the mid-19th century.
After the tour, we will take you back to your starting point.
