Itinerary
Your tour for the day will start with a convenient hotel pickup in a private, air-conditioned vehicle, and your adventure will unfold with a visit to three incredible sites:
Saqqara Pyramid
Your first destination is the Saqqara Pyramid complex, which is a key part of the Memphis necropolis. Here, you'll see one of the earliest pyramids, the Step Pyramid of Zoser, which was built around 2650 BC. This pyramid was a groundbreaking design, marking the transition from mastaba tombs to the iconic pyramid shape. The pyramid stands at about 60 meters tall, and was designed by Imhotep, the renowned architect of Pharaoh Zoser. It's considered the prototype for the later pyramids in Giza.
Lunch Break
After exploring the historical wonders of Saqqara, you’ll take a well-deserved break for lunch at a local restaurant. Enjoy traditional Egyptian dishes and recharge for the remainder of your tour. Drinks are not included, so feel free to order as desired.
Ancient Memphis
Your final stop is Ancient Memphis, the capital of Egypt during the Old Kingdom (3100-2040 BC) and the site where the pharaohs were crowned. Memphis was founded by Narmer, who is often regarded as the first pharaoh of Egypt. One of the highlights of this visit is the massive statue of Ramses II, which stands at over 11 meters tall and weighs more than 80 tons. The statue, originally discovered in 1820, was carved from pink granite and is displayed in a protective area in Memphis after being moved from Cairo to prevent further erosion.
