• Start with a visit to the Egyptian Museum, home to the largest collection of artifacts from Ancient Egypt’s Pharaonic era, including a room dedicated to the treasures of Tutankhamun.

• Next, explore the Citadel of Saladin, built in 1138 AD by Salah El Din atop the Mokattam Mountain to protect Cairo from the Crusaders. Visit the Alabaster Mosque of Muhammad Ali, designed by the Turkish architect Yousif Boushnaq, who came from Istanbul to build this mosque for King Muhammad Ali, who ruled Egypt for over 45 years (1805-1849).

• Enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant.

• After lunch, explore Old Cairo, which includes the Hanging Church, the Church of Saint Barbara, the Church of Abu Serga, and the Ben Ezra Synagogue.
