Once at the hotel, our representative will assist you with the check-in process, review your itinerary, and confirm the scheduled times for your tours.
You will then have some free time to relax and enjoy your hotel amenities.
In the morning, your tour guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo in a private, air-conditioned vehicle to begin your exciting day of exploration. Your tour will include the following highlights:
Giza Pyramids
The Pyramids of Giza are the last remaining wonder of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, making them one of the most iconic landmarks globally. The three main pyramids are the Pyramid of Khufu (Cheops), the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure (Mycerinus).
Queen's Pyramids
You will also visit the smaller secondary pyramids located near the main ones. These were often the burial places for the wives and children of the pharaohs, along with labor villages, temples, and tombs.
Great Sphinx of Giza
The Great Sphinx, an enormous limestone statue, is located near the pyramids. It depicts a reclining lion with a human head, thought to represent the Pharaoh Khafre. Originally, the Sphinx was painted in red ocher and had a beard, but these features have eroded over time.
The Egyptian Museum of Antiquities
Next, you will visit the Egyptian Museum, home to thousands of artifacts from ancient Egypt. The museum houses over 25,000 items, including the priceless treasures of Tutankhamun, which were sealed in his tomb for over 3,500 years before being discovered in 1922 by Howard Carter.
Lunch
After the museum visit, you’ll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, where you can sample traditional Egyptian dishes (drinks are not included).
Khan El Khalili Bazaar
Your final stop will be the bustling Khan El Khalili Bazaar, a vibrant market in the heart of Cairo. It's a fantastic place to shop for Egyptian souvenirs, such as handcrafted goods, jewelry, and spices. The market is always lively, with both tourists and locals.
After the tour, your driver will take you back to your hotel to relax and unwind.
In the morning, upon your arrival in Luxor, your guide will be waiting to take you on a fascinating tour starting with:
Valley of the Kings
The Valley of the Kings is renowned for its incredible tombs, which were carved into the desert rocks to house the pharaohs of the New Kingdom. These tombs are richly decorated with intricate paintings and filled with treasures intended for the pharaohs' journey to the afterlife. You will visit three of the tombs here.
Temple of Queen Hatshepsut
Next, you will visit the Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, a magnificent structure dedicated to Egypt's only female pharaoh. The temple is uniquely designed, with a series of terraces that rise out of the desert floor and blend seamlessly into the surrounding limestone cliffs.
Colossi of Memnon
Your tour continues with a visit to the Colossi of Memnon, two massive statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III. These statues were originally built to guard his funerary temple and remain a significant symbol of his reign.
After completing the tour, your Egyptologist guide will take you to your hotel in Luxor for check-in.
Overnight in Luxor.
After breakfast at your hotel, your guide will accompany you to visit:
Karnak Temple
Karnak Temple is the largest temple complex in the world, with ruins that date back to the 21st century BC. It also contains many monuments from the 7th century AD, offering nearly 3,000 years of history in one site. The temple is dedicated to the Theban Triad, and its grandeur and historical significance make it a must-visit in Luxor.
Luxor Temple
Next, you will visit Luxor Temple, originally built by Amenhotep III and later expanded by Ramses II. Unlike many other temples, Luxor Temple is notable for its combination of Pharaonic, Greco-Roman, Coptic, and Islamic elements. It provides a fascinating look at the evolution of religious practices across different periods of Egyptian history.
After your visit, you will be transferred to Aswan in a private, air-conditioned vehicle.
Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel in Aswan for check-in.
After breakfast at your hotel, your guide will accompany you to visit:
Aswan High Dam
The Aswan High Dam is a significant 20th-century construction, completed in 1970, and built to protect Egypt from the annual flooding caused by the Nile River, the longest river in the world. It plays a critical role in regulating water flow and providing hydroelectric power.
Unfinished Obelisk
Your next stop will be the Unfinished Obelisk, located in the red granite quarry. This obelisk was commissioned during the reign of Queen Hatshepsut and was intended to be the largest in ancient Egypt, with a height of 42 meters and a weight of 1,200 tons. It provides insight into the ancient methods of stone cutting.
Philae Temple
Next, you will visit the Philae Temple on the island of Philae, situated between the old and new Aswan Dams. The temple is dedicated to the goddess Isis and is a prominent site in the mythology surrounding Isis, Osiris, and Horus. The temple's stunning architecture and serene location make it a must-see.
After completing your visit, your Egyptologist guide will take you back to your hotel in Aswan for an overnight stay.
Our representative will pick you up from your hotel in Aswan around 5:00 AM for an early departure to Abu Simbel. We recommend starting early to reach the temples in the morning and avoid the intense afternoon heat. Along the way, you'll also get to enjoy the unique experience of a sunrise in the desert.
After approximately 3 hours of travel, you will arrive at Abu Simbel.
Abu Simbel
Abu Simbel is an iconic complex consisting of two temples carved directly into the rock. One temple is dedicated to Ramses II, and the other is dedicated to his first wife, Nefertari, his beloved queen. The construction of these temples took about 20 years and was completed during the reign of Ramses II. Remarkably well-preserved, the temples were buried under sand until the 19th century.
The most striking feature of these temples is their location, carved into solid rock on the banks of the Nile, between the first and second cataracts. Abu Simbel gained international fame after it was relocated in the 1960s during the construction of the Aswan Dam, to prevent it from being submerged by the rising waters of Lake Nasser.
Your guided tour of Abu Simbel will take around two hours, providing ample time to explore both temples and learn about their fascinating history—why they were so well-preserved, how they were relocated, and how Egypt received international aid for this incredible project.
After enjoying this amazing experience, you will return to Aswan Train Station for your overnight sleeper train journey back to Cairo.
Overnight: On the sleeper train to Cairo.
