Giza Pyramids
The Pyramids of Giza are some of the most iconic structures in the world, and the only surviving wonder of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The three major pyramids include the Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure.
Queen’s Pyramids
You’ll also visit smaller secondary pyramids, where the wives of the pharaohs were buried, along with labor villages, temples, and tombs.
The Great Sphinx of Giza
The Great Sphinx is the largest Egyptian statue, carved from limestone of the Giza plateau. It depicts a reclining lion with a human head and was originally painted red ochre and had a chin beard, though this has eroded over time.
Wadi Khafre Temple
Next, you will visit the Valley Temple, used in the ancient Egyptian embalming process and to cleanse the king's mummy before burial.
Lunch
After visiting the Pyramids of Giza, enjoy a break for lunch at a local restaurant, where you will experience traditional Egyptian food (drinks not included).
The Egyptian Museum of Antiquities
Your next stop is the Egyptian Museum, which holds an extraordinary collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts, showcasing over 25,000 items from 5,000 years of history. Highlights include the treasures of Tutankhamun, including his furniture and jewelry, which were discovered by Howard Carter in 1922.
Khan El Khalili Bazaar
After the museum, you’ll visit the bustling Khan El Khalili Bazaar, the famous Cairo market known for its vibrant atmosphere. It’s filled with locals and tourists alike, offering a variety of goods, including unique local handicrafts.
After the tour, we will return you to your hotel.
This is a private tour. We will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo in a private car and transfer you to Alexandria, a beautiful city located three hours from Cairo. Alexandria, founded by Alexander the Great in the fourth century BC, is the second most important city in Egypt and was once one of the most significant cultural and commercial centers in ancient times.
Upon arriving in Alexandria in the morning, we will begin our tour with the following highlights:
Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa
These catacombs, built during the Roman era, have three levels, with decoration that blends Egyptian and Roman styles. They offer a fascinating glimpse into the ancient burial practices of the region.
Roman Theater
The Roman Theater in Alexandria was originally constructed by the Nabataeans in the early first century AD. It was later expanded by the Romans after their annexation of the kingdom in 106 AD. The theater was designed to hold 3,000 spectators and was built by dividing a street of houses and tombs.
Alexandria Library
We will visit the modern Library of Alexandria, which was designed to symbolize the Egyptian god Amun-Ra. In addition to the library itself, the complex includes a planetarium, three museums, a laboratory, and a printing press.
Note: The library is closed on Fridays and Saturdays, so we will view it from the outside on those days.
Abu al-Abbas Mosque
We will pass by the stunning Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi Mosque, an architectural masterpiece built between 1929 and 1945. Its design is influenced by the ancient Egyptian structures found in Cairo.
Lunch
After the morning’s sightseeing, we’ll take a break for lunch at a local restaurant with a view of the Mediterranean. You will enjoy traditional Egyptian dishes, including meat, rice, and salads (drinks not included).
Qaitbay Citadel
We will visit the Citadel of Qaitbay, located on the site of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. This defensive fortress was built in 1480 by Sultan Qaitbay.
After the tour, we will return you to your hotel in Cairo.
You can also choose to take additional trips to explore the Step Pyramid of Sakkara or immerse yourself in the history of Memphis City and the Open Air Museum. Alternatively, visit the Dahshur Pyramids, including the Red Pyramid and the Bent Pyramid. After your adventures, you can relax and unwind at your Cairo hotel, where you'll find comfortable accommodations for the night.
