Located in an area steeped in history, NMEC is surrounded by significant Islamic, Coptic, and Jewish landmarks, close to Fustat, Amr Ibn Al-Aas Mosque, the Hanging Church, and the Ibn Ezra Synagogue. This museum offers an incredible opportunity to explore the evolution of ancient Egyptian civilization through the ages, from prehistoric times to the modern era.

One of the highlights of the museum is the Royal Mummies Hall, designed to resemble an ancient tomb. Here, you'll see royal mummies of Egypt’s most famous pharaohs, accompanied by detailed information about each mummy, along with tomography data revealing how each king and queen met their end.

The Central Exhibition Hall offers a journey through Egypt's civilization, starting from 35,000 years ago and covering the Pharaonic, Greek, Roman, Coptic, Islamic, and contemporary periods. It houses about 1,600 artifacts, allowing you to witness Egypt’s vast and diverse cultural heritage.
